Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Tuesday hinted of impending trouble in form of arrests of former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ministers in the state by categorically asserting that law would be allowed to take its own free course in graft matters.

Talking to reporters after a cabinet meeting, Akhilesh said that in the near future, probes could be initiated against some other BSP ministers too.

The state Lokayukta had recently written to chief minister seeking sanction for prosecution of nine ministers in the Mayawati government. With these close associates of the BSP chief facing possibility of arrest, the chief minister said the list of corrupt BSP ministers could increase.

Akhilesh also blamed the previous BSP regime for the acute power crisis in the state.

Former ministers Naseemuddin Siddiqui, Ramveer Upadhyaya and several others have been held guilty by the state Lokayukta on various charges of corruption and nepotism.
