Albanian opposition Democratic Party has put an end to its parliamentary boycott which lasted nearly four months, media reported Wednesday.
"We return in order for this parliament to become the temple of democracy," said Edi Paloka, senior Democrat lawmaker.
The Democrats started their boycott Sep 1 to lodge their protests after two governing Socialist lawmakers allegedly attacked a Democrat lawmaker.
The impasse was solved with the help of two European legislators Knut Fleckenstein and Eduard Kukan, Xinhua reported citing the Albanian Daily News.
"The only thing that we demanded was for the governing party not to pretend that don't know what the opposition demanded," declared Paloka.
The government led by Prime Minister Edi Rama controls 84 seats in the 140-seat parliament.
