An alert Delhi Police woman official foiled the abduction of a blind girl here, police said Thursday.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Kiran Sethi Wednesday afternoon saw a man forcing the blind girl to sit inside an auto rickshaw in Rajinder Nagar of central Delhi and intervened.
"I was not in the uniform when I spotted the girl.... She was looking scared and told me that the man was forcing her to sit in an auto," Sethi told IANS.
"When I inquired, the man shouted at me and also abused me, saying it was their personal matter... I immediately restrained him with the help of passersby and called police," she said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar said the man, identified as Sandeep, 29, has been booked under charges of abduction and molestation.
Appreciating Sethi's alertness, Kumar said that she would be rewarded soon.
