Algerian counter-terrorism troops killed a leader of an Islamic State (IS)-linked terror group, a security source said on Monday.
Mouloud Dahane, also know as Abu al-Mundir, was killed in Tipaza province on Sunday night by security forces acting on intelligence tips, Xinhua quoted a source as saying.
Dahane was believed to be behind recent terrorist attacks in Tipaza, including a bombing that targeted a checkpoint of the National Gendarmerie in January.
The source said Dahane was planning to conduct more attacks on military sites in Cherchell town.
