Speaking at the foundation-laying stone function here, he said his government was creating a conducive and positive environment for investment and industry in the state, and as a result, many companies have shown keen interest in investing in Uttar Pradesh.

Noting that many domestic and foreign companies like HCL, Wipro, CSC, Birla Soft, Accenture, Sapient, Patni, IBM and others are working extensively in the state, he expressed his wish that the benefits of information technology (IT) percolate to other districts of the state.

The chief minister also said the state government has rolled out many schemes for the benefit of the IT sector and to attract private investment.

He said that an IT policy 2012 had been implemented in the state under which mega projects worth Rs.200 crore or more IT and IT-enabled service units will be given special incentives.

He added due to the concerted efforts of the state government, the infrastructure structure in Uttar Pradesh was improving.

Yadav said an IT city was being developed in Lucknow and work to promote IT parks in other districts of the state was underway.

He added the endeavour of the state government was to develop UP as an international IT hub as it was already the sixth biggest exporter of IT products in the country and an IT hub of northern India with a 35 percent share.
