"Orange is the New Black" star Dascha Polanco is facing a court battle for allegedly attacking a 17-year-old girl.
Teenager Michelle Cardona has accused Polanco, 33, of attacking her in the former's Upper Manhattan home on July 29, reports people.com.
The actress appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court on Thursday.
According to court documents, Cardona alleged that Polanco punched her in the head, pulled her hair and used fingernails to strike her arms.
"This is an attempt to extort money by making a false claim. We expect the case to be dismissed," Polanco's lawyer Gerald Lefcourt said. The next court date is set for January.
