BJP president Amit Shah will visit West Bengal on July 7 to give impetus to the party's membership drive in the eastern region of the country.
"Shah, along with party national general secretary Ram Lal, will arrive in West Bengal on July 7 to give impetus to our membership drive in the states of West Bengal, Assam, Odisha and Jharkhand," state Bharatiya Janata Party chief Rahul Sinha said.
Sinha said Shah and Ram Lal will hold discussions with party representatives from the four states on 'Maha Sampark Abhiyan', the party's initiative to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots.
Sinha also exuded confidence of the party soon getting one crore members in the state.
"We have set a target of one crore membership in Bengal and we are very confident of achieving that mark very soon. Already the membership has gone beyond 65 lakh in the state," added Sinha.
