Spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi, widely known as Amma, will meet Pope Francis in Vatican next month.
A spokesperson for the Mata Amritanandamayi Math said the leader of the Catholic Church had invited her to Rome in December.
Amma said it was an honour to be called upon as a representative to join Pope Francis.
"Opportunities for religious leaders to come together can help spread the fragrance of peace and harmony in the world and can generate solutions to global problems," she said.
