The Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday opened control rooms to provide information about Telugu people stranded in quake-hit Nepal.
The control rooms have been opened in Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi and Andhra Pradesh secretariat here.
The round-the-clock helpline number in Delhi is 011-23782388 while the control room number in Hyderabad is 040-23456005.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the situation with top officials and directed them to take immediate steps to bring back safely all Telugu people from both the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana stranded in Nepal.
Naidu also spoke to officials of the external affairs ministry over phone to enquire about the people stranded.
The chief minister directed the resident commissioner in Delhi to gather information about 52 tourists who had gone to Nepal from West Godavari and 40 from Vijayawada.
He also enquired about tourists who had gone from Guntur district and also about a Telugu film unit.
