British actor Andrew Garfield has landed lead role in Martin Scorsese's project "Silence".
The 29-year-old will play the role of Father Sebastiao Rodrigues in Scorsese's adaptation of the 1966 novel by late Japanese author Shusaku Endo, reports contactmusic.com.
Scorsese first started working on a script after reading Endo's novel in 1988. Actor Ken Watanabe will also feature in the film, the shooting of which will begin in June 2014.
