Designer Anita Dongre Friday showcased her "India modern" fashion line at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014.

Her latest collection brings out the vivacity and charm of Rajasthan, as the master couturier paints this regal picture with flowy bridal lehengas being reinterpreted with an innovative twist of modern day styles, subtle detailing and layering juxtaposed with intricate gotapatti, dori and hand embroidery on rich fabrics.

Anita's collections were a blend of lehengas with crop tops, structured jackets with embroidered pants and elegant couture gowns - unique yet quintessentially Indian - while her menswear continues its journey of sophisticated style, with a range of raw silk kurtas, textured long jackets, classic sherwanis, dhotis and ghera salwaars in au courant hues for the modern day man.

The artistic palette shuttles between soft neutrals like cream and flesh to vibrant jewel tones of ruby reds, peacock blues and raani pinks, adding a touch of old world luxury

The show was uplifted by Sitar maestro Niladri Kumar, the current Brand Ambassador for "Taj Flavour of Darjeeling", who was performing live on stage, while the models showcased the glorious collection.

The ongoing Lakme Fashion Week, which kicked off Aug 19, will continue till Aug 24.
