Poachers have killed yet another world famous one-horned rhino in Assam's Kaziranga national park, taking the number to 10 since January this year.
Park officials said poachers managed to take away the female rhino's horn.
The incident came to the fore after forest guards recovered the carcass of the rhino from Kohora forest range of the park.
The horn of the rhino was missing, clearly indicating it to be a case of poaching, the officials said, adding that this was the 10th one-horned rhino to be killed in the famed park in 2015.
"It is suspected that the poachers killed the animal last night (Thursday)," a park official said.
In a related development, police have arrested three poachers from Assam's Nagaon district late Thursday night. One 303 rifle and five rounds of live ammunition were recovered from their possession, police said.
