Precision engineering company Aerospace Processing India (API) on Wednesday inaugurated its Phase II facility at Aequs special economic zone (SEZ) in Belagavi, Karnataka.
The new expansion aims to accommodate additional capacity and capabilities including facilities for water-based paint, solid film lubricant, sulfuric anodizing and zinc nickel plating in a fully integrated modular facility occupying 40,000 square feet.
"We are continuing to grow and develop critical capabilities in India's aerospace manufacturing sector. This expansion will keep API at the forefront of aerospace special processing expertise in India," said Aequs chairman Aravind Melligeri in a statement.
However, the investment specifics were not divulged. API is a joint venture between Aequs and Magellan Aerospace.
Additional capabilities in Phase II include environment-friendly tartaric sulfuric acid (TSA) anodizing line approved by Airbus and cadmium plating line scheduled to come online this year.
