Argentina's Luis Zubeldia will coach Ecuador's Liga de Quito football club for the 2014 season.
Liga de Quito, one of the leading teams in the country, said via Twitter Tuesday that they were hiring Zubeldia to replace fellow Argentine Edgardo Bauza, who will continue to coach the team until the end of the current season in December, reports Xinhua.
The former Argentine footballer is expected Thursday in Quito to close the deal.
Zubeldia, 32, will coach the team along with assistant coach Maximiliano Cuberas, and physical trainers Pablo Sanchez and Lucas Vivas, who have worked with him for his last three teams.
Zubeldia has coached Barcelona, the most popular club in Ecuador, between 2011 and 2012, and Argentine clubs Lanus and Racing.
