Argentine midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has rejected an offer to extend his contract with English Premier League (EPL) club Leicester City.
Cambiasso joined the club last season on a one-year deal. Leicester has recently named
Italian Claudio Ranieri as its manager.
Ranieri said he had spoken to the 34-year-old Argentine about a new deal urging him to "please come back", reports bbc.co.uk on Wednesday.
But it had no effect on Cambiasso as he issued a statement on Tuesday, saying: "I have decided not to renew my contract with Leicester City."
"I have taken this decision only 24 hours after receiving the proposal from Leicester because I want to give the club as much time as possible to find an alternative."
Cambiasso featured in 33 matches, scoring five goals for the club last season.
"I have lived one of the most important years of my career," he was quoted as saying by bbc.co.uk on Wednesday.
