Arms dealer Abhishek Verma and his Romanian wife Anca Maria Neacsu Monday moved the Delhi High Court seeking quashing of FIR registered against them by CBI in a case related to illegal possession of secret defence documents.

The two were accused of possessing the secret defence documents and supplying them to foreign nationals in violation of the Official Secrets Act.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had booked the couple for allegedly possessing secret documents relating to the Indian Air Force projects, acquisition plans and other information.

Moving the high court, Verma alleged that the investigating agency has lodged the FIR based on some forged and fabricated documents and sought an inquiry against a senior CBI official and the people who supplied the documents to the probe agency.

"A large conspiracy has been hatched by Ashok Aggarwal, an ex-IRS (Indian Revenue Service) officer who is facing charges under Prevention of Corruption Act, Ramnish Geer, senior superintendent of police of CBI and Edmond Allen, my business partner and Ganton Pvt Ltd's president," the plea said.

Verma said he has written to the higher authorities about misuse of power and authority by Geer to falsely implicate him, and sought an inquiry against these people as he asked the court to quash the FIR registered under the Official Secrets Act against him and his spouse.

He also said despite repeated representations to CBI, no action has been taken against the officer and others on his complaint.

In June 2012, Verma claimed on his representation, the Central Vigilance Commission had recommended action against them and the government had appointed a central vigilance officer this year but no steps have been taken so far.

Hearing the case, Justice Hima Kohli asked counsel for CBI to inform the court, by Nov 15, as to what steps were taken by the investigating agency on Verma's complaint.

In November 2012, the CBI filed charge sheet against Verma, his wife, their company Ganton India Pvt Ltd and former wing commander Koka Rao, who is accused of allegedly leaking the confidential documents which were later provided to the CBI by Verma's estranged business associate Allen.
