Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Bipin Rawat on Monday arrived in the state capital here on a day-long visit.
He was received by Lt. General BS Negi, Army Commander, Central Command at Surya Khel Parisar.
The Army chief during his visit to the station interacted with officers of Headquarters Central Command and veterans of Uttar Pradesh. He also interacted with officers, serving soldiers and recruits of the 11 Gorkha Rifles Regimental Centre, an official statement said.
Later in the day, Rawat is to meet Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Rawat expressed satisfaction on the operational and administrative preparedness of formations and lauded the selfless service of the troops deployed in the remote and challenging areas, the statement added.
