A defence spokesman told IANS in Srinagar Wednesday: "Army today killed two terrorists in the Machil sector of the Line of Control in Kupwara district of the state.

"Two AK-47 rifles, one under barrel grenade launcher (UBGL) along with other war-like stores were recovered from the slain terrorists. The operation is still in progress."

He added: "This is third counter-terrorist operation carried out by the army while they are still continuing with the relief, rescue and restoration operation in flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir.
