An Army porter was killed on Wednesday when Pakistani troops opened fire violating the ceasefire in Rajouri district, defence sources said.

The porter was killed in the Nowshera sector along the Line of Control (LoC). He was identified as Surinder Kumar, sources said.

"The Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked firing at five locations on the LoC in Rajouri district today. Indian positions retaliated strongly," a source said, adding the firing exchanges started around 4 p.m. today.

Two Army soldiers have been killed in sniper fire from Pakistan on the LoC in Rajouri district during the last seven days.
