Around 2,900 kms of national highways constructed: Minister

The central government on Wednesday said 2,892 km of national highways have been constructed till October 31 in the current fiscal.

According to Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Pon. Radhakrishnan, the government has targeted to complete the construction of 10,950 km of national highways during 2015-16.

"Allocation for the development of highways for the current year under the various schemes of the ministry is Rs.81,114.59 crore," Radhakrishnan said in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.
