English football club Arsenal got a 3-1 home win at the Emirates Stadium against Sunderland, ending their three-game winless run in the Premier League.
French striker Olivier Giroud made amends on Saturday for a first-half own goal by scoring in the second half to help Arsenal win the match, which moves the team up to second place in the standings, reports Xinhua.
Joel Campbell put the 'Gunners' in the lead in the 33rd minute and Giroud restored their lead mid-way through the second half after he had gifted the visitors an equaliser at the stroke of half-time. Aaron Ramsey added the third to secure the victory.
Arsenal are two points behind surprise leader Leicester while Sunderland are two points above the relegation zone.
It was a boost before Arsenal's must-win Champions League trip to Olympiakos next week where Arsene Wenger's side must score by two clear goals to reach the knockouts.
