English football club Arsenal forced a 2-2 draw against French champions Paris Saint-Germain in a Champions League group stage game.

Striker Edinson Cavani converted Blaise Matuidi's pass from close range to give PSG the lead but Arsenal ended a tough first half on a high when striker Olivier Giroud converted a penalty, reports www.arsenal.com.

The penalty was awarded after their Chilean forward Alexis was brought down by defender Grzegorz Krychowiak at the Emirates Stadium here on Wednesday.

Arsenal were lucky to take the lead when PSG's Italian midfielder Marco Verratti scored a freakish own goal.

But the lead was nullified when defender Alex Iwobi diverted PSG's midfielder Lucas Moura's header past goalkeeper David Ospina to haul PSG level.

The draw means Arsenal need Ludogorets to avoid defeat against PSG in the group's last round match though it ensured qualification to the last 16 of the competition.
