Chennai-based commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland on Monday said its volume sales for April 2015 surged 43 percent at 8,435 units in the month against 5,897 units in the corresponding month last year.
The company, in a regulatory filing with the National Stock Exchange, said its medium-high commercial vehicle sales during the month under review rose by 45 percent at 6,549 units against 4,523 units during April 2014.
Light commercial vehicles sales went north by 37 percent at 1,886 units for April, this year compared to 1,374 units in April 2014.
Last month, the company's sales grew by 24 percent at 12,754 units against 10,281 units sold in March 2014.
Part of the Hinduja Group, the vehicle maker closed fiscal 2014-15 registering a 17 percent volume growth at 104,902 units compared to 89,337 units sold during 2013-2014.
