With Rupinder Pal Singh leading the scoring table with a hat-trick against the Islanders, the Indian team is continuing their rich vein of form achieved after winning silver in Glasgow COmmonwealth Games (CWG).

"The team effort proved to be successful for us. I am glad that the modules practised during training are being efficiently implemented in the competitive matches and it has helped in our overall game-play," said Rupinder. "I am eyeing to continue my form against Oman and deliver even more goals."

Ramandeep Singh, V.R. Raghunath, Chinglensana Singh and Nikkin Thimmaiah were also on the scoring list against Sri Lanka.

P.R. Sreejesh, goal-keeper and vice-captain also enthused optimism ahead of the match.

"The 8-0 win has boosted our confidence. The team looks in good shape," he said.
