India's Navjot Channa entered the pre-quarterfinal of the men's 60kg judo event in the 17th Asian Games defeating Kuwait's Abdalla Almaraghy at the Dowon Gymnasium here Saturday.
The 30-year-old Channa won by scoring an Ippon, which is awarded for a technique which involves kicking the head of an opponent or throwing down the opponent, against the 24-year-old Almaraghy.
Channa, who had won silver in the Commonwealth Games, played an aggressive game against the Kuwaiti, who was awarded four shido points (penalties) during the four minutes 32 seconds encounter.
