Popular Assamese actresses Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Shamin Mannan and Mahika Sharma have come forward to promote their home state and have urged their fans to visit various places in the northeastern state.

Devoleena, who is currently seen as Gopi in the popular TV show "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya", feels Assam will teach people a "true lesson of mythology".

"Temples like Sivasagar Sivadol and Kamakhya will make you feel India is the land of God. People say that India was a golden bird, but Assam makes me feel that she is still a golden bird. The taste of tea to the love among the people touches my heart," Devoleena said in a statement.

"Places like Rang Ghar, Charaideo and Talatal Ghar tell the tales of kings. My mind and heart question me why Assam is still unexplored. People should come and explore the state," she added.

Shamin, best known for her roles in shows like "Santaan", "Sanskaar - Dharohar Apno Ki" and "Yeh Hai Aashiqui", believes people should look forward to stay in the "largest tea exporting town in India. Assam is a place where the stick music makes you move and do Bihu dance."

"The flora and fauna will steal your heart. Waterfalls, lakes, coal mines - Assam has it all," she added.

Mahika, former Miss Teen Northeast, said: "Kaziranga, Manas and Dibru-Saikhowa National Parks give the best experience of wildlife.

"Dhemaji and Abhayapuri districts show you heaven on earth. Nilachal hill can purify your soul."
