UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is "outraged" by the terrorist attack on a UN convoy in Somalian capital city of Mogadishu, his spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday.

A suicide bomber smashed a car packed with explosives into the convoy near the airport of Mogadishu Wednesday morning, killing at least four people, Xinhua reported.

Though no UN staff was killed or injured, the attack damaged UN vehicles in the convoy and injured several Somali bystanders and security personnel, the statement said.

Ban, in the statement said, "There can be no justification for terrorism or such attacks", and the UN is committed to working with the people and the government of Somalia to help rebuild peace and prosperity in the country.
