FC Augsburg have completed their first summer transfer after signing striker Julian Schieber from Hertha Berlin on a free transfer, both Bundesliga clubs have announced.
Julian Schieber will reinforce the "Fuggerstaedter" as the 29-year-old striker has penned a three-year deal, which keeps him with Augsburg until June 2021, reported Xinhua news agency.
"With Julian Schieber we have snapped up an experienced and dangerous striker. We are confident that he can help us to achieve our goals in the future," Augsburg's CEO Stefan Reuter said on Tuesday.
Augsburg's new arrival played since 2014 for Hertha Berlin to provide ten goals and three assists in 43 appearances. Schieber knows the Bundesliga very well as he played for Stuttgart (2008-2012) and Borussia Dortmund (2012-2014). He has scored 26 goals in 156 Bundesliga outings.
"I am very happy that Augsburg gives me the chances to hunt for goals in the next three years. I would like to help Augsburg continue their success in the Bundesliga," Schieber said.
Augsburg completed the Bundesliga season 2017/18 at the 12th position in the league standings.
