Australia's unemployment rate increased 0.1 percentage points to 5.7 percent in October, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reported Thursday.
Figures released by the ABS showed the number of people unemployed rose by 9,100 to 709,300 in October, reported Xinhua.
The October jobless rate was in line with economists' forecasts.
The ABS reported the total number of people employed increased by 1,100 to 11,639,200 in October.
Full-time employment fell 27,900 to 8,094,700 in October, while part-time employment was up 28,900 to 3,544,500.
The labour force participation rate was steady at 64.8 percent in October, the ABS said.
