Australian tennis player Daria Gavrilova on Thursday knocked out Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova to secure her place in the Italian Open quarterfinals.
Kuznetsova said goodbye to the tournament after losing 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 to Gavrilova, who had eliminated American Madison Keys, runner-up last year, and Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, reports Efe.
In the next round, Gavrilova is set to play the winner of the match between Russian Ekaterina Makarova and Dutch Kiki Bertens.
