Australian health authorities were on Tuesday investigating a mass poisoning of 164 school principals who attended a conference in Brisbane over the weekend.
The authorities said at least 164 principals were poisoned with 22 people so crticial that they had to be hospitalised, Xinhua reported.
Blood test results from one patient suggested salmonella poisoning, the authorities said.
The conference was attended by Queensland state school principals and senior departmental officials.
People infected with salmonella develop diarrhoea, fever, vomiting, and abdominal cramps 12 to 72 hours after being infected.
