Rapid Vienna has announced the sacking of German coach Mike Buskens over the poor results during his five months at the helm of the Austrian football club.
Rapid Vienna has also fired the club's sporting director Andreas Muller on Monday, reports Efe.
After 14 rounds of the Austrian league, Rapid Vienna is in fifth place, a position that cannot secure their participation in European competitions next year.
The club said in a statement that it is looking for a new coach in Austria or abroad, provided that the coach speaks German.
Austrian Thomas Hickersberger, assistant of Buskens, has been named as an interim coach.
The 32-time champions of the Austrian league lost at home 0-1 against Wolfsberg on Sunday, which triggered the dismissal of Buskens and Muller.
