An auto-rickshaw driver was stabbed to death here over fare issues. Four minor boys have been arrested for their involvement in the murder, police said on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhur Verma said four boys aged between 16 and 17 had hired 26-year-old Jahangir Alam's rickshaw from Delhi's Khanpur to Connaught Place area on Sunday night.
"On the way they had a disagreement with the driver on the issue of extra charges applied to the fare for night time and for the fourth passenger," he said, adding that one of the passengers stabbed Alam during the scuffle.
At 11.30 p.m., a police motorcyclist found the rickshaw driver in an injured condition in the Kasturba Gandhi Marg area. He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Because of the loud noises made during the incident, people were able to catch one of the culprits who was later handed over to the police. The knife used in the murder was also seized.
Earlier on Monday, the police caught the other three accused from their residences in south Delhi's Dakshinpuri area.
