In a bid to raise awareness about Chiropractic therapy, a form of alternative medicine to cure neuro-musculo-skeletal disorders, over 50 Chiropractic specialists organised a camp here Monday.

"The incidence of spinal injuries and backache is rising in India. Indian population is prone to neuro-musculo-skeletal disorders arising out of heavy labour work amongst labour class and long sitting hours, wrong postures and lifestyle related issues amongst office goers," said Amit Jimmy Nanda, president, Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors.
According to a recent study by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), musculo-skeletal diseases are the most common cause of severe long-term pain and morbidity having a substantial influence on health and quality of life.
Talking about the Chiropractic therapy Nanda said, "In Chiropractic therapy, the basic approach is to assist the body to heal itself through adjustments of the spine."
"The Chiropractic therapy removes interference to the nervous system during such disorders," said Nanda.
"Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuro-musculo-skeletal complaints, including back pain, neck pain and pain in the joints of the arms or legs," added Nanda
