A man has given a complaint that his new-born baby was swapped in a government hospital in Ghaziabad, police said Saturday. The hospital authorities denied the incident.

Sonu, a resident of Daulatpura, said that Friday night he was informed that his wife had delivered a boy but Saturday morning a nurse told him that his wife gave birth to a girl, police said.

Hospital's Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) Kalpna Gupta denied the allegation and said it was confusion in the family's mind.

She said the authorities were ready to conduct any medical examination, like DNA test, to dispel the family's doubts about baby swapping.

"The family seems satisfied but they, still, have not withdrawn their complaint so we are keeping all options open," said police circle officer-II Praveen Ranjan Singh.

"If the family and the hospital authorities jointly approach us to close the case, we will do the same. If they fail to reach any conclusion the investigation would proceed accordingly," he said.
