Bangladesh's International Crimes Tribunal has issued a death warrant against Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mohammad Kamaruzzaman for crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War, media reported Thursday.

The warrant, wrapped in red cloth, was sent to the jail Thursday afternoon, bdnews24.com reported.

The process to execute the Jamaat leader will start after the prison officers read out the warrant to Kamaruzzaman.

The warrant will also be sent to the home ministry and district magistrate.

Jamaat assistant secretary-general Kamaruzzaman can file a review petition within 15 days from Wednesday.

The full verdict was published Wednesday.
