Bangladesh Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad along with other officials will hold a meeting with President Abdul Hamid Thursday.
The agenda for the meeting, which was expected to begin in the afternoon, could not be known immediately, Muhammed Sadique, secretary to the Election Commission, told the Daily Star.
The Election Commission sent a letter to the military secretary of the president Tuesday, seeking the appointment for the meeting, Sadique added.
Meanwhile, chiefs or representatives of the six political parties, out of 12 going to participate in the general elections slated for Jan 5, will be able to campaign for their parties on state-owned Bangladesh Television (BTV), bdnews24.com reported.
The ruling Awami League will get 40 minutes, the Jatiya Party 20, and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Workers' Party of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Nationalist Front 15 minutes each.
After selecting political parties and slotting time for their election speeches on BTV, Joint Secretary (Broadcast) Abul Hossain informed the Election Commission about it.
