Bangladesh's apex court Sunday rejected an appeal by former prime minister Khaleda Zia challenging a high court ruling that had upheld her indictment in a graft case.
A five-member bench of the Supreme Court's appellate division, headed by Chief Justice Md. Muzammel Hossain, gave its verdict on the plea pertaining to the Zia Charitable Trust case, bdnews24.com reported.
The same bench Nov 25 had dismissed two "leave to appeal" petitions by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party chief over the Zia Orphanage Trust case - another graft case filed against her by the Anti-Corruption Committee.
Khaleda was indicted in both the cases March 19 this year.
