Bangladesh on Tuesday signed two agreements with Turkey to increase cooperation in the development of small and medium industries and increase institutional cooperation in quality control of products.

The agreements were signed by delegations from the two countries in the presence of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Turkish counterpart Binali Yildirim, bdnews24.com reported.

One of the agreements was between Bangladesh's MI Foundation and Turkey's MI Development Organisation. The other was between the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution and the Turkish Standards Institution.

Prior to the signing of the agreements the two leaders held a private meeting.

Yildirim arrived in Dhaka on Monday night. He went to pay his respects to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Monument in Savar on Tuesday.

He then visited the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum to pay homage to independence leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Yildirim is also scheduled to meet President Abdul Hamid and will attend a dinner hosted by Hasina.

He will visit the Kutupalong Rohingya camp on Wednesday before flying back to Turkey.
