Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday refuted claims that the government did not send money to the Muslim dominated areas, and said "banks and ATMs don't differentiate people".
"Please don't say that money is not sent to Muslim areas. Temporary inconveniences are everywhere. Banks and ATMs don't differentiate people," Rijiju tweeted.
The minister's remarks came a day after AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi alleged that banks and ATMs in the Muslim dominated areas of Hyderabad were not functioning.
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen chief while addressing a public meeting on Milad-un-Nabi also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being a tyrant.
