Catalan football giants Barcelona announced on Tuesday that they have agreed to extend their sponsorship with Qatar Airways for one more season.
The agreement stipulates that Qatar Airways will be the main sponsor for the Catalan club until June 30, 2017, under the same conditions as their current deal, reports Efe.
The Qatari government has maintained this alliance with the Spanish club since Barcelona former president Sandro Rosell was in office in 2010, when Qatar Airways was called Qatar Foundation.
"Qatar Airways has helped us to make Barça bigger in recent years. The success that has accompanied the club has partly been their work," said Manel Arroyo, Barcelona vice president of marketing and communication.
Akbar Al Baker, chief executive of Qatar Airways Group, said: "Three years ago was the first time we entered into such a landmark sports partnership. We are proud and greatly honoured to continue that relationship."
