Bayern Munich eliminated fifth-division side FC Noettingen 3-1 in the first round of the DFB Cup.

German giants Bayern Munich overpowered resilient FC Noettingen 3-1 on the road. The visitors opened the scoring with just five minutes into the encounter on Sunday as Arturo Vidal stepped up to convert a handball penalty, Xinhua reported.

The underdogs sensationally restored parity eleven minutes later as Niklas Hecht-Zirpel slotted home a rebound from Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich.

It was short-lived joy for the hosts as Bayern's Mario Goetze provided his side the 2-1 lead moments later, following a low shot from the edge of the box.

Pep Guardiola's men were not done with the scoring as Robert Lewandowski killed the game with the 3-1 at the 26th minute.
