The organisers for the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games has said Beijing displays the trust needed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) so as to be awarded the 2022 Winter Games, and Rio is willing to share experience with the Chinese capital in the future.

Beijing beat Kazakhsatan city Almaty, the only other contender, in the IOC vote held in Kuala Lumpur, earlier on Friday to become the first city to host a summer and winter Games, Xinhua reported on Saturday.

"The success of organising the 2008 Beijing Summer Games gives the IOC the trust needed. The Olympic family trusts China and Beijing because they know China will deliver. That's an assurance for the IOC," Rio 2016 organising committee chief spokesman Mario Andrada told Xinhua through a telephone interview.

"I hope the Games could a benefit of the population in China. Chinese will have a chance to learn and be in love with winter sports. That's will be very positive," he added.

As the one year to go milestone is approaching, Rio is focusing on the preparation for the 2016 Games. Andrada said Rio is ready to exchange experience with Beijing.

"That's one of the most important traditions of the Olympic movement. The cities help each other all the time. We got a lot of help from London and Beijing. We try to give information to Tokyo. And now maybe Beijing can learn something from Rio," he said.
