Indian airline major Jet Airways has cancelled two of its flights to Brussels in view of an impending nationwide strike by major trade unions in Belgium on Monday, Dec 15.
"The nationwide strike in Belgium will directly affect flight operations in and out of Brussels airport (BRU). Jet Airways, like other airlines, is constrained to cancel/reroute flights," the airline said in a statement Thursday.
According to the airline, it has cancelled the Mumbai-Brussels-Newark flights and rerouted its Delhi-Brussels operations.
The airline cancelled its Mumbai-Brussels flights which further operate on the Brussels-Newark sector.
The Newark-Brussels and Brussels-Mumbai flight on Dec 15 also stands cancelled.
The airline said the Delhi-Toronto flight via Brussels is being rerouted for a technical stop via Paris.
"The airline is implementing measures to minimise passenger disruption, with guests being protected and re-accommodated on other flights," the airline said.
