Benfica beat Setubal in Portuguese league

Benfica beat visiting V. Setubal 3-0 in the 21st round of the Portuguese football league at the Luz Stadium here.

The scoring was opened by Benfica's defender Jardel in the ninth minute and his teammate Lima added another five minutes before half-time, before scoring again in the 71st with a header Sunday night, reports Xinhua.

Benfica now are top of the league with 53 points and maintain a four-point lead ahead of FC Porto while V.Setubal are in 14th place with 19 points.

Also Sunday, Maritimo beat Penafiel 4-3, Rio Ave drew 1-1 with Moreirense, Academica drew 0-0 with Boavista and Braga beat Arouca 2-0.
