Benfica paid rich tribute to their legend Eusebio, who passed away Jan 5, with a fine 2-0 win over Porto at Luz stadium to get back to the top spot in the Portuguese football league.
The winners had held one-minute silence before the game in memory of Eusebio here Sunday night, reports Xinhua.
Porto had greater possession of the ball in the first half but didn't create much danger in the opening minutes. The closest Porto got scoring early in the game was in the 10th minute through Jakson Martinez, following a low cross by Carlos Eduardo.
Rodrigo put Benfica ahead in the 13th minute with a left footed effort that went to the top left corner. He scored from the left side of the box, following assistance by Lazar Markovic.
FC Porto was very close to scoring just before half time, again through Martinez, but his effort from close range missed to the left.
Following a cross by Enzo Perez, Ezequiel Garay closed the scoring in the 53rd minute with a close-ranged effort to the centre of the net.

Rodrigo almost scored shortly after but his right footed shot went too high.
The game became heated towards the end, when Danilo gained a second yellow card and was dismissed.
Porto's Ricardo Quaresma won a free kick in the 89th minute, on the left wing, after a foul by Lazar Markovic but Mangala's header was too high and went wide.
