Brazilian football prodigy Victor Andrade is set to join Benfica after rescinding his contract with Santos.

The 18-year-old forward and the Brazilian club have already agreed to terms with the Portuguese side, who are expected to make an official announcement within days, Xinhua cited from the football portal Lancenet.

Andrade, a member of Brazil's under-20 team, has made 31 appearances for Santos since his first-team debut in 2012.

Benfica are understood to have fought off strong interest from Hoffenheim, who sent representatives to Brazil this week in a bid to change the player's mind.

Andrade is considered one of Brazil's most promising talents. Santos had placed a $25 million buyout clause on him but are understood to have reached a compromise deal with Benfica.
