A woman constable of West Bengal Police Tuesday sought the intervention of the state women's commission alleging sexual harassment by a senior male officer.
The woman constable has accused an inspector-level officer of the New Town police station under the Bidhannagar Commissionerate of making an indecent proposal.
"I want to see an end to all this harassment and will go to the women's commission seeking redressal," the woman said.
She also said the senior officer denied her leave after she rejected his advances and has been harassing her.
The senior officer, however, rubbished the allegations and in turn accused the woman of indiscipline.
"I cannot tolerate indiscipline nor will I compromise, no matter what allegations are being made against me. I am ready to accept any punishment if I am found guilty. Just because I did not tolerate indiscipline, coloured stories are being fabricated," the male officer said.
