A youth in West Bengal, who had posted photographs of feasting on a civet, in social media, has been arrested, police said on Wednesday.
"We arrested Pranoy Baul from Palta in North 24 Parganas on Tuesday. He was produced in court today (Wednesday)," an official of the Titagarh police station told IANS.
In a Facebook post, wildlife conservation campaigner Joydip Kundu said: "One of the two culprits who killed and ate a civet last night and proudly posted it on social media has been nabbed by a joint operation conducted by the West Bengal Forest Department, SOG CID West Bengal and Titagarh P.S."
