Selected films of American director and screenwriter Wes Anderson, known for his distinctive visual and narrative style, will be screened here during "The Wes Anderson Fair" beginning Dec 16.
The American Centre has collaborated with Cinedarbaar, a film appreciation club, for this six-day fair which will see screening of "Rushmore", "The Royal Tenenbaums", "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou", "The Darjeeling Limited", "Fantastic Mr. Fox" and "Moonrise Kingdom".
The movies will be showcased in a chronological order of the year of direction. One movie will be screened a day, except for the last day, Dec 21 when two movies will bring down the curtain.
The festival will open with "Bottle Rocket", the directorial debut of Anderson, featuring Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson and Ned Dowd. It is a story about a group of young Texans aspiring to become master thieves.
The 44-year-old filmmaker was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for "The Royal Tenenbaums" in 2001 and "Moonrise Kingdom" in 2012. He was also nominated for Best Animated Feature for "Fantastic Mr. Fox" in 2009.
